A HOMECOMING MESSAGE
from Desiderio 'Desz' Fuerte and Robertina 'Bobbie' Mortel

After 25 years, we visited QCSHS to make an ocular inspection of the school in preparation for this year's homecoming event. While walking on the same pathway and corridors, more flashbacks of our high school days suddenly ran through our minds. Our high school days were probably the most memorable days of our lives. We can still remember how we walked hand in hand after each school day, unmindful of the physical aches brought about by our gruelling CAT drills. Those were the days when we were still young, slim, and floating on cloud nine with our first love, first date, first dance, and first kiss.

Our friends' jaws drop whenever they find out that we were sweethearts in high school. Yes, it's true, and it is only by God's grace that we're still together, amidst all the pressures and hassles of wordly life. Perhaps we may also credit ourselves since we know we have more than enough patience, understanding, fear and love of God, love for our children and perseverance. But these are just ingredients to help make a delicious dish called "a long and happy marriage". We still needed someone to cook the dish for us. So we are grateful to our Lord for always being there as our "cook" especially during the most trying times of our married life.

Thank you to QCSHS, to our parents and guardians who have supported us in the realisation of our dreams, to our dedicated teachers who have given us a solid academic foundation, to our classmates who have remained our friends through the years. We have such good memories of our youth because of all of you. To be able to look back and be grateful for the years that were and to celebrate the Silver Anniversary of batch '77, we shall forever treasure this rare opportunity.
